General Rules:

1. Goodyear spec. right rear tire, 22.0 x 8.0 x 13 A200 #M700 2869 D2869 or, A300

#D2332. Spec tires must have a minimum durometer reading of 52 @ 200 degrees F

Compound numbers on spec tires must remain visible. Altering of spec. tire is prohibited. Grooving, siping, softening, etc. is not allowed.

2. No wings or air foils.

 

3. Midget type tails only.

  

4. Full cage and headrest padding.

  

5. Left and right cage nets.

 

 6. Car weights minimum 650#, with driver 870#.

 

 7. Engine specs froze through 2003.

 

 8. Carbs - see rulebook specs

 

 9. After market ignition boxes are legal.

 

 10. Each car must keep it’s original entry number. Number may be changed only upon

proven sale of car.

 

 11. All competitors are welcome to participate.

 

 12. Vulgar language, fights, arguments, etc., will not be tolerated.

I. CONSTITUTION

 

A. OBJECT

The object of this group shall be to promote safer and more interesting racing for the public’s viewing. Also it shall do its utmost to improve and refine 3/4 (TQ) MIDGET racing and this type of car.

 

 

B. JURISDICTION

 

  This group shall exercise jurisdiction over all persons engaged in driving, handling, and preparation of a TQ Midget for racing. And all persons officiating and in related employment of race tracks.

 

 C. SPIRIT & INTENT

 

  Racing is a sport designed for fun and enjoyment of the families. These rules and regulations have been kept to a minimum.

 

 

These rules and regulations are the standard by which the group will be guided. The purpose of these rules and regulations is to provide a uniform set of standards and procedures to establish the legality of cars and engines used in club competition. No pretense is made of having designed a foolproof set of rules and regulations.

 

 

The spirit and intent of the rules will be the standard by which sanctioned events will be guided. Event officials are authorized to decide if an equipment change or design change is an attempt to "beat" the rules. They can and will disqualify an entry in violation of the spirit and intent of these rules.

 

 

D. DISCLAIMER

 

 

The rules and regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of the racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.

 

 

These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.

 

 

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

 

 

It will be each competitor’s responsibility to keep themselves informed of changes to the rules and regulations.

 

 II. DUTIES OF APPOINTED OFFICIALS

 

 1. Race Director: The race director is in charge of all participants at the track and has overall responsibilities for the safe and competitive conduct of each racing event.

 

 2. Starter: The starter (flag man) shall be in charge of bringing the cars to the starting line in a proper and orderly fashion to ensure an equitable and safe start. The starter must display the proper flags throughout the entire event. Please remember, the Starter is Lord and Master over all from the time the cars are pushed onto the grid until the time they are back in the pits. He functions under the direction of the Race Director.

 

 3. Scorers: To score the event, provide results of each competition, and work closely with the starter in providing important data during the running of the event. The scorers shall make the final determination as to positions of vehicles on restarts.

 

 4. Corner Workers: To observe driving behavior and to report and assist as needed during the events.

 

 5. Technical Committee: To inspect all cars for compliance with the rules. To exercise all decisions involving technical matters and to report to the Race Director.

 

 III. TQ MIDGET RACE CAR SPECIFICATIONS

 

 A. CHASSIS

 

1. Wheelbase: 66 inches maximum

58 inches minimum

 

 

2. Tread : 44 inches maximum

38 inches minimum

maximum rear hoop measurement- 53 7/8 inches

 

3. Maximum 13 inch diameter wheel may be used provided the tire when mounted and inflated does not exceed 23 inches overall diameter and is not less than 15 inches in diameter.

 

 4. Wheel Width: 9 inch- right-rear inside bead-to-bead maximum

8 inch- left-front, right-front, and left-rear inside bead-to-bead maximum

  

 

5. Weights: (a) All cars must weigh 870 lbs. minimum with driver.

(b) All cars must weigh 650 lbs. minimum without driver.

 

 7. All cars must have working automotive type suspension.

 

 8. All ballast weight to be bolted securely. Suggested minimum 2 3/8" bolts grade 5 minimum with nylock nuts per 10 lbs. of weight.

 

 B. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

New Generation Kawasaki ZX-7 and Suzuki GSXR750 Engine Rules The intention of the following rules is to allow a competitor to use a stock 1996-2003 New Generation Kawasaki ZX-7 and Suzuki GSXR750 engine with no modifications, other than the following exceptions: Oil pans may be cut/modified to facilitate the installation of the engine into a T.Q. midget. No dry sump oiling systems are allowed. Modifications required to install an external oil cooler are allowed. Stock ignition may be replaced by a Dyna 2000 aftermarket ignition. The front cover may be modified to allow the installation of Dyna 2000 ignition. No adjustable cam sprockets may be used. Stock cam sprockets only. Stock cam chain tensioners only. Aftermarket jet kits are allowed. All engine parts not specifically mentioned must be stock, and have the proper years' model code. No metal removal of any kind, from anywhere on the engine. Valves must be stock or stock replacements. No oversize valves. Valve jobs are allowed, but no metal may be removed beyond the valve seat. Camshafts must be stock, and have the proper model code visible. No removal of cylinder base gaskets. Head and cylinder base gaskets must be stock thickness. Carburetors are to be CV type, limited to a maximum venturi size of 38mm and must have come stock with the 1996-2003 Kawasaki ZX7 or 1996-1997 Suzuki GSXR750. Kiehan or Mikuni carburetors only. Carburetors must remain with the original engine manufacturer. Interchanging of Kawasaki carburetors onto Suzuki engines or vice-versa is not allowed. No aftermarket bolt-on performance enhancing parts of any kind are allowed except as noted above. Engine must retain stock bore, stroke, and compression. Revised 03/15/08

 

1. No engine manufactured later than 2003 will be eligible to run.

  

2. No rotary engines allowed.

  

3. Automotive Engines:

(a) Any aluminum head cast iron block engine in its stock form of not more than 61.0255 cu. in. (1,000 cc) can be fully modified. No limitations except blowers and supercharges are not allowed.

 

(b) Any push-rod cast iron block engine in its stock form of 73.229 cu. in. (1,200 cc) can be fully modified. No limitations except blowers and superchargers are not allowed.

 

4. Two-stroke engines maximum 31.999 cu. in. (524.38 cc).

 

      

5. Motorcycle Engines:

(a) Overhead cam (twin or single) limited to 51.870 cu. in. (850 cc) maximum two valves per cylinder. No limitations except no blowers or supercharges. No clean-up allowed.

 

 (b) Harley Davidson engines are limited to 61.0255 cu. in. (1,000 cc). No limitations except no blowers or supercharges. No clean-up allowed.

  

(c) Any approved motorcycle engine with more than two valves per cylinder limited to 45.767 cu. in. (750 cc) in its stock appearing form with stock carburetors as per manufacturers specs and run on gasoline only (see C. 1. Carburetor Spec). *Stock ignition box or aftermarket ignition boxes (no MSD). i.e. dyna 2000 or Vance & Hines are currently approved boxes. 1 mm clean-up allowed.

 

 *Stock appearing means external modifications which do not in any way create a performance gain.

 

All multivalve engines must start with onboard power no external batteries allowed. Car must be able to pull away under its own power and shift through all gears.

  

6. Two Valve Engines: limited to 850 cc, can run gas/alcohol, no nitro or blowers.

  

7. Use of secondary oil coolers is allowed.

  

8. Recess or relocation of drain plug on engines is allowed; however, no modifications may be made to the oil pan.

  

9. 1 mm overbore is allowed for 4-valve engines.

 

C. CARBURETOR SPECIFICATIONS

1. Competitor can use any carb manufactured for their make and model of 750 cc street legal multivalve engine. Maximum venturi size as per original manufacturer specifications.

 

2. Manufacturers specifications for carburetors used on 750 cc motorcycle engines. If a competitor is using a carburetor other than those listed below, that competitor must be able to produce for inspection the manufacturers parts book showing the part number and carburetor make. Competitors may use the largest venturi size shown on the below chart regardless of the year, i.e. Kawasaki engines may use a venturi not greater than 39 mm, Yamaha may use a venturi size not greater than 38 mm, and Suzuki may use a venturi size not greater than 39.9 mm.

D. COOLING SYSTEM

1. No anti-freeze to be used in cooling systems.

  

2. Any liquid cooled engine must have a radiator catch can.

 

IV. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

 

 A. FRAMES

1. Frames may be constructed in any design.

2. Frames must be welded. No brazing.

3. Current cars must use 1" diameter tubing minimum.

New cars must use 1 1/8" diameter tubing minimum.

 

B. BODIES

1. Cars must have a full race car body including side panels and should conform to standard midget or roadster design.

 

2. Rear engine designs acceptable provided the car is of neat appearance.

 

3. All cars must be equipped with a suitable underpan extending from the rear end to behind the front axle. Rear engine cars must have an under pan or tail section under engine. All cars must have an engine underpan.

  

4. All cars must have 14 inches minimum overhang front and rear measured from the center of the axle. Maximum overall length is 121 inches.

  

5. Maximum height and width on roadster bodies 32 inches high and 32 inches wide measured from the ground and race ready.

 

C. WINGS

1. No Wings, Spoilers, Pods, or Airfoils are allowed.

 

D. STEERING

1. Steering wheel must be of racing type and have quick release hub (no plastic parts to be used on quick release hub).

  

2. All stock steering units that have been machined must be passed by the Technical Committee.

 

3. Brazing will not be allowed. The steering gear and all steering linkage must be good workmanship and material, and must be passed by the Technical Committee.

 

4. Spindles must be of the automotive type and approved by the Technical Committee as to sameness of construction.

 

E. DRIVE TRAIN

 

1. All solid type drive shaft must be enclosed with a torque tube. Open type drive shaft must have suitable metal guard 1/4 inch thick x 1 inch minimum or suitable equivalent minimum completely surrounding the drive shaft at each end.

(a) aluminum drive shaft hoops will be to the satisfaction of the Technical Committee.

 

2. All cars must have a positive neutral clutch so as to disengage the engine from the drive axle. Belt clutches are not allowed.

 

3. No slipper clutches of any type, stock type clutches only.

 

F. FUEL TANKS

 

1. Fuel tanks must be so constructed and supported as to ensure against breakage.

 

2. Fuel tanks must be within the body contour of the car and within frame rails.

  

3. All fuel tanks must not hold more than five (5) Imperial Gallons. Fuel bladders eight (8) U.S. gallons maximum.

 

4. All cars must be equipped with a fast action fuel shutoff valve located in the cockpit within easy access to the driver. The valve handle may be on the outside of the body as long as the valve body remains inside the cockpit.

 

5. Leakage of fuel will not be tolerated and shall be cause for disqualification. Oil and water included.

 

6. All cars must have a leak proof cap on tank in case of upset.

 

7. Any approved plastic cell or bladder covered in a steel or aluminum container, equipped with a roll-over valve is mandatory.

  

8. Fuel shut-off and kill switch should be identified with contrasting color. Recommendation: fluorescent paint.

  

G. ROLL BARS & NERF BARS

 

1. All cars must be equipped with a roll cage. The bars must be two (2) inches minimum from the drivers head and protrude over the drivers head when sitting in a normal driving position with helmet on.

 

2. The minimum specifications for roll bar cages must be constructed of at least one inch (1) outside diameter 1020 mild steel welded seamed tubing with a wall thickness of .120 or 1020 DOM .095 or 4130 chrome moly .095. All new cars must have a roll cage minimum of 1 1/8 inch OD (1.125) .095 1020 DOM, or 4130 Condition N Chrome Moly, or 1018 Seamed tubing 120 wall to be used. Recommended: front upright roll cage bars should have a rearward angle.

(a) All cars must have approved fire retardant foam padding completely surrounding the driver’s compartment of the roll cage.

 

3. The roll cage must be securely fastened to the frame and should be adequately braced to secure in an upright position in case of upset.

 

4. All cars must be equipped with nerfing bars strong enough to ward off wheels of other cars. Nerf bars must be so placed as to not constitute a hazard of locking wheels. They should be placed on both sides of the car in front of rear wheels not less than the center of the tire and not to extend past outer extremity of same. Sissy bars to ward off wheels of other cars, and window nets on both sides are mandatory.

 

5. No part of the car may extend past a straight line drawn between the outside of the front and back wheels on both sides.

 

6. All cars must be equipped with bumpers: the front bumper must be high enough to prevent going under another car. The rear bumper should be high enough and strong enough to accommodate a push truck and its lowest point be not more than eight (8) inches from the ground.

 

7. All cars must have brace behind front axle to protect driver’s feet in event of an accident to be approved by the Technical Committee.

 

H. EXHAUST PIPES

 

1. All cars must be equipped with an exhaust system leading directly from the engine to outside of car. Rear exit exhaust pipes shall extend beyond the back of the seat but not further than a line between rear tire and the extreme end of the tail section. Side exhaust are to exit no more than three (3) inches in front of rear wheel and below the midway point of the body at the point of exit. Side exhaust must point outward from the car.

 

2. The exhaust shall not be directed toward the ground, tires, or fuel tank.

 

3. any exhaust in close proximity to driver must have a raised metal guard to prevent accidental burning.

 

4. Mufflers are mandatory maximum 100 db.

 

I. FUEL

 

1. Straight methanol or gasoline only as follows:

(a) Methanol, specific gravity, .7920. Two valves only, no additives.

(b) Gasoline, no additives.

 

V. MISCELLANEOUS SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

 

1. THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MAY BAR FROM COMPETITION ANY CAR WHICH DUE TO THE LACK OF MAINTENANCE, DESIGN OR CONSTRUCTION THEY DEEM TO BE DANGEROUS.

 

2. At the beginning of each season, all cars must be inspected at the track by the Technical Committee. After a car has been in a wreck and repaired it shall be inspected before allowed to run again. A new car in its first appearance at the track must be passed by the Technical Committee before being allowed to run. It is the car owners responsibility to ensure his car is inspected at the first opportunity.

 

3. Use of an approved safety belt and shoulder harness is mandatory. Quick opening metal-to-metal clasps on both are mandatory. The shoulder belt must be three inches (3) wide and fastened securely tot he frame of the car. Both fastenings and belt condition is subject to inspection and approval of the Technical Committee. All belts must be replaced every five (5) years.

 

4. All drivers must wear an approved helmet (min spec 1995 SA) and an approved eye protection device at all times while driving on the track. Drivers required to wear glasses for their drivers license must wear them while on the track.

 

5. It is mandatory that all drivers wear long sleeved flame-retardant uniforms and fire gloves. Arm restraints are mandatory during practice, qualifying, and race events. Strongly recommend: Fire retardant underwear, top, bottom, socks, and bella calava, shoes, and collar.

 

6. It is recommended that all drivers remove all dentures before going on to the track.

 

7. Cars must have operable four (4) wheel hydraulic brakes. A single spot disk or drum may be used on a solid rear axle. Brake rotors must be steel, cast iron, or aluminum.

 

8. All cars must have a engine scatter shield between the driver and the engine and or transmission. Minimum twelve (12) gauge. (1/8")

 

9. All cars must have a suitable on/off switch within easy access of the driver and easily identified. Recommend: fluorescent paint.

 

10. Radiator catch cans are mandatory on all cars using an overflow system.

 

11. Wet batteries may be used provided they are of the leak proof type and firmly mounted.

 

12. It is strongly recommended that all fuel and oil lines be of aircraft high pressure type or neoprene. Copper lines are not allowed.

 

13. Hubs or axles must not extend beyond outside edge of wheel rim.

 

14. A good type fire extinguisher must be present at technical inspection and carried with the car or at least be present in the pit area of said car.

 

15. All cars must conform to rules governing engine, chassis, carburetors, and fuel before they are allowed to compete.

 

16. An open competition, or championship race shall not be part of regular season point championship series.

 

VI. PAINT AND CAR NUMBERS

 

1. Cars must be painted and numbered in contrasting colors so as to be clearly seen.

 

2. All cars must have numbers at least one and one half (1 1/2") inches wide and ten (10) inches high painted on their car in contrasting colors on both sides of the car and on the front. Foil numbers are not allowed. All cars must have their numbers painted on the rear of their cars so that the driver behind can see the number. Any car not having the numbers so placed will have no recourse in the case of dispute over its finishing position.

 

3. All cars must have number plates mounted to both sides of roll cage with 6" numbers minimum.

 

4. There will be no three (3) digit numbers. Only three (3) digit numbers will be assigned (if necessary) to guest entries for one (1) race only.

 

5. All cars appearing at the track must be painted and present themselves in the best possible condition. If damaged at the track, a car must be repaired within seven (7) days. Primer is not considered paint.

 

6. The high point owner in standings is entitled to the number one (1) for the following year of his / her championship. The previous number shall be reserved until the owner relinquishes the number one (1).

 

7. The high point driver in club standings is awarded the club’s Driver Championship.

 

8. Rookie of the year award: Three (3) or more races in that year is considered your rookie year. Driver with the highest points determines rookie of the year recipient.

 

VII. GENERAL RULES

 

A. Improper Language or Conduct

 

1. Improper language or gesture: any person within the jurisdiction, who at any time uses improper language to an official shall be subject to immediate suspension. The length of the suspension will depend on the degree of the offense. The decision will be made by the Race Director.

 

2. Any persons causing a disturbance may be banned from the premises as well as the pit area. And his case brought before the Race Director for review. The person may be fined, suspended, or both.

 

3. Conduct: Any person within the jurisdiction who at any time causes bodily harm, strikes or pushes any person shall be immediately suspended from the next race and fined no less than two hundred dollars ($200).

 

4. Any car may be refused entry into the pits or track if, in the opinion of the Technical Committee and the Race Director, the car is unsafe.

 

5. Any driver under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol will be barred from the competition. If a driver is not in good physical condition the driver may also be excluded from competition. This also applies to pit crews.

 

6. The use of intoxicants by drivers, car owners, mechanics, and pit attendants, or regular track officials is strictly prohibited. A suspension or fine may be immediately levied on the person or persons guilty. Drinking in the pits is forbidden before or during the race program.

 

7. All persons directly connected with a car at a sanctioned meet will appear clean, well groomed, and preferably in a full racing uniform. It is recommended that each be as clean and sharp as possible in appearance.

 

8. All persons in the infield should give assistance to other cars for the good of the show and the safety of drivers and their cars.

 

9. Pit passes shall be worn in such a manner that it may be seen at all times (drivers are exempted).

 

10. No radio communication of any type to be used by any competitor.

 

11. Compound numbers must be visible on spec right rear tire.

 

12. Rescheduling of rain-outs will all depend on all the circumstances and will be rescheduled by the track promoter.

 

VIII. RACING RULES

 

1. All cars must be kept in their pit when not on the track.

 

2. When preparing to start a race, all cars on the grid shall wait until notified to start their engines.

 

3. On original or restarts you must be in racing gear on white flag lap.

 

4. All races will be rolling starts. The pole car is allowed to set the pace. No competitor may pass the pole car on warm-up laps. If in the opinion of the starter, the pace car is either too slow or too fast, he may speed up or slow down the start.

 

5. No pit crew shall be allowed to restart stalled cars.

 

6. A maximum of five (5) pace laps will be run before the race is started. If a car cannot be started in that time, it must be removed to the pit area. Once the race is under way, cars not taking the original green will not be allowed to enter the track under any circumstances.

 

7. If a car cannot be started in a maximum of two (2) laps it must return to the pit area.

 

8. In all starts, all cars must complete one (1) full lap before the race is officially on.

 

9. In heats and consi events restarts will be allowed in the event of an accident or spin-out. There will be a maximum of one (1) restart per car, (with accident or spin-out cars restarted at the rear). Two (2) restarts per car in the A and B feature events.

 

10. On a flying restart all drivers may resume racing speed the moment the starter displays the green regardless of their position on the track.

 

11. On the caution (yellow), the lead car should cut his/her speed to at least half his/her normal racing speed. Passing on the caution will be allowed only when lead car overtakes an ailing or very slow moving car.

 

12. During a red flag you are not allowed to have work done to your car while on the track and no crew member can move you off the track. Officials, when conditions are safe, can move cars into the pits and work can commence on the car. Cars already in the pits when red flag is displayed may continue to work on their cars. Cars near the accident scene or cars that are uncertain as to where accident is during red flag conditions must turn their cars off. If it is apparent that you are not near the accident scene, then you may leave the engine running.

 

13. The display of the black flag means someone is disqualified. It may not be apparent to a driver immediately, therefore, a driver will be allowed three (3) laps to discover he/she is the one being disqualified. Failure to leave the track will be cause for a suspension of driver for two complete race events. If a driver is black flagged for inspection, and no infraction is found, that driver will resume his rightful position on the restart.

 

14. Drivers are responsible for the cars in front of them and must not contact them or cause them to alter course. However, the deliberate blocking of a faster car, by weaving or sudden application of brakes is grounds for disqualification of the guilty car.

 

15. Repeated corner cutting, in which two or three wheels are off the track proper, shall be grounds for disqualification.

 

16. If a car leaves the track or comes to a halt to avoid an accident, it may re-enter the race. But the decision of the starter will be final as to whether the action was necessary or not.

 

17. If a driver spins out on the track, in the path of oncoming cars, the driver shall remain in the car, raising both hands above his/her head as a signal that the car will not move until they have passed.

 

18. No drivers or pit crews are to talk to or distract the starter or race director during a race. Any questions or complains should be directed to one of the officials.

 

19. Warnings to drivers shall be announced at drivers meetings.

 

20. A car may be worked on in the pits only, re-entry is only permitted under a yellow caution period. The driver will take a position at the back of the field.

 

21. Once the green flag has been thrown, and the race is started, you are not permitted to go into the pits to change car or driver.

 

22. A rookie is required to start at the rear of the field for a MINIMUM OF THREE race meets. All rookies are required to run rookie stripes, until removed by the Race Director. After their 3rd start, their driving habits will be reviewed and, if suitable, they will then be allowed to be handicapped as usual.

 

23. Any driver who shall gain any position in a race while the race is running under caution flag, shall be penalized two positions for each position gained, at the end of the race. This penalty shall be invoked regardless of whether the car or cars passed remain in the race. This penalty will also apply for using the move over flag to gain positions.

 

IX. ENGINE PROTEST

 

1. (a) A protest is only necessary when it is believed that an engine rule is being contravened. A competitor may file a protest by the following procedure.

 

(b) A $100.00 protest fee must be presented to the Technical Director within 15 minutes after the completion of the feature race.

 

(c) If the engine is declared legal, the fee will be awarded to the owner of the protested car.

 

(d) If the engine is declared illegal, the fee will be returned to the protester and the protested owner will be suspended two (2) race events. All prize money and points for that event will be forfeited. The driver shall forfeit all points earned to that point in the season.

 

(e) The officials shall immediately notify the person in charge of the vehicle under protest. The vehicle must not be removed from the premises until after the inspection has been made.

 

(f) The officials will inform the person in charge of the vehicle under protest as to what parts must be stripped off the engine to facilitate an inspection. The parts must be stripped off the vehicle by the teams members of the protested vehicle.

 

(g) The examination need not be made until after the program has been completed.

 

OTHER PROTESTS

 

2(a) Any car at any time may be inspected by the Technical Committee. If a contravention regarding engine rules is found, the penalties as outlined in Section Nine, Paragraph d) shall apply.

X. RACE PROCEDURE

 

1. No race shall be run until a drivers meeting has been held to explain the procedures decided upon by the officials.

 

2. The GREEN FLAG shall start all races. When held out by the starter during a race means the track is clear. GREEN LIGHTS around the track signify the same thing.

 

3. MOVE OVER OR BLUE FLAG we do not use a particular flag to signal a move over situation, the starter will point at the car to be lapped by the leaders and motion to move to the inside of the track. Do not stop racing but remember that the 2nd and 3rd place cars are probably right on the leaders tail.

 

4. The BLACK FLAG under yellow means stop for consultation with track official, if displayed while under green then pull off immediately.

 

5. The WHITE FLAG one (1) lap to go for either green at start or to end of the race at checkered.

 

6. The YELLOW FLAG is the caution flag, slow down and no passing. YELLOW LIGHTS MEAN THE SAME.

 

7. The RED FLAG means danger and stop at once. RED LIGHTS mean the same.

 

8. The CHECKERED FLAG signifies that the race is over.
