MacPPP Setup for the Macintosh


After selecting PPP or MacPPP from the Control Panel menu, the following window will appear.

PPP Information Screen

PPP Information:

  • The Name is the logon name you requested at signup.
  • The Password is the secret code you requested at signup.
  • The Number is Wizard's phone number for your city.
  • We have expanded our "Local" dialup access to all of Erie and Niagara Counties along with the communities of Medina, Albion, Batavia, Olean, and Wellsville.  All of our local calling areas have access to both dialup hunt groups.  Go to our Dialup Locations Page to see the numbers available for local dialup access.
  • Click the Options button.

    Connection Settings Screen

    Connection information is as follows:

  • Select the Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications option
  • The reminders options are set to the users preference. If you need a reminder to stay connected or want your machine to shut down automatically after a certain amount of idle time, make the appropriate selection.
  • Click the Ok button.

    Protocol Settings Screen

    Protocol Settings:

  • Select Allow error correction and compression option.
  • Select Use TCP header compression option.
  • Click the Ok button.
